D. Best Construction, a trusted Island business, is known for quality craftsmanship and a commitment to detail. We are an inception-to-completion contractor, working in conjunction with local companies to achieve our clients’ dreams. With 30 plus years of experience on-Island, D. Best Construction is fully invested in the Vineyard Community, having strong ties and philanthropic involvement with many Island organizations.
We accept a myriad of projects from small to large on an on-going basis. While we take on new construction and challenging remodels, we specialize in historic restorations. Working with an extensive in-house directory of local businesses, D. Best Construction can formulate the right fit between homeowners, subcontractors and the projects’ needs.
D. Best Construction employs and manages approximately 40 staff members daily – 3 office staff, 7 supervisors, 25 carpenters and 8 painters who are all among the most talented people on Island. All are dedicated, and many have been with Doug for over 10 years. Doug’s philosophy is that if his employees feel they are completely involved in the projects, they will be thoroughly invested and loyal to both the company and the clients. It works!
