Being a part of the community means being involved in its many organizations, from both a physical and financial perspective. The following are organizations in which we participate and support.
Doug and D. Best Construction have been proud supporters and major donors of the YMCA of Martha's Vineyard since its founding. For over 14 years, Doug has served as a dedicated board member, contributing his time, expertise, and leadership to the organization.

As Chair of the Expansion Committee for the past four years, Doug has played a key role in planning and advancing a much-needed expansion to better serve the growing needs of our island community. He currently continues his involvement as an ex-officio Board Member and serves on the Finance Committee.
MARTHA'S VINEYARD BUILDERS ASSSOCIATION
As a former board member, Doug continues to be be an active member. Lisa, our office manager, serves as the secretary of the organization. Johnny Prata also serves on the Board. Many of our staff and subcontractors are also involved in varying capacities.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF MARTHA'S VINEYARD
For many years D. Best Construction has supported the organization by providing donations and services in assisting with their efforts
The company has recently assisted in their major effort to renovate the Hanover House which will provide much-needed affordable housing to Martha's Vineyard Hospital staff.

D. Best Construction has been a long-standing member of our active Chamber of Commerce.
Painting supervisor, Eric Adams, joined the Harbor Homes board in 2024. Eric brings a unique blend of clinical expertise, community leadership, and hands-on experience to all the work he does. With a strong commitment to his community, Eric has spent years working with youth and adults facing mental health challenges, substance use issues, and housing instability.
