COMMUNITY GIVING

Over the last 20 years, Doug Best, Maureen Best and D. Best Construction, Inc. have donated over $500,000 locally, in addition to time, physical support and participation and have increased their donations each year as the business has grown. I

The company has hosted an annual Christmas party/benefit since 2015 that has raised over $40,000. This was done by having many throughout the community donate items and services for raffling with over $10,000 each year awarded as prizes.

In the past the company has worked on and built homes for the Island Housing Trust and Habitat for Humanity, helped with the YMCA’s development and construction, teen center, pavilion and bus stop, built the Sharks’ bathrooms and erected one of the high school baseball team’s backstops.

Additionally, D. Best Construction has and continues to perform discounted services for some of the town community structures and has worked on the Tisbury Town Hall, Police Department, School and Senior Center.

The company’s employees started a high school scholarship program in 2018 for those seeking a future in trade related services. To date the company and its employees have helped 15 young adults with more than $14,000 in scholarships.
